Time flies. People used to say happy time goes by faster. I don't agree with that. I think happiness, or unhappiness, doesn't not affect the speed of time. Time just slips by us with every tick. Tick, tick, tick.
Almost a year since I left NYC for Shanghai. Let me tell you I miss NYC more than ever. I missed her so much that I even proclaim my love of the NYC subway. I know I went too far on that love. But the dirty old stairs leading down to NYC subway system just comforts me.
There are the normal movies and guns shooting while I am here. Obama was on the UWS causing traffic jam. Restaurant visits were planned for every meals to remind me how expensive it is to dine in NYC. It is also my fault to select the best of the best such as Le Bernardin and Gramercy Tavern. They worked my credit card!
The cultural institutes in NYC are probably one of my top 3 favorites. Yayoi Kusama's exhibition in the Whitney, the Cloud City on the roof top and Ellsworth Kelly's Plant Drawings in the MET, are the few I got to see this time. They are truly inspiring.
I ran in Central Park a couple of times. It is such a luxury to have access to such a beautiful park. CP must be the 2nd of my top 3.
The architecture that lines every street and avenue makes this city. The streets of brownstone buildings are picturesque and charming with the sprinkles of trees along the curb. The old institutes gives the streets a presence with their detail and size.
I am leaving today. It is so hard to leave the city behind. Until next time...
