Time sure flies. A week went by in a flash. A year only has 52 weeks. That's how we grow old.
A busy week. But it is also a sad week. Tax, bank, doctor and dentist... None of these are fun stuff. Dealing with them takes a lot of energy. On top of that, saying good bye to a dog I knew for 9.5 years dying of cancer and visiting the 9-11 Memorial just overwhelmed me with sadness. Oscar the St. Bernard and I entered the Bott's family around the same time. I met him when he was this huge puppy. Seeing him couldn't get up from the floor just hurts me.
Two of my closest friends were also not in town. At a time when I really wish they are by my side, it is disappointing. I got to talk to them over the phone a few times. Yet, it is still comforting to know that even Charlene is miles away living a completely different life as a mother, she is still the one I can turn to for comfort.
NYC is still NYC. Fascinating at times; just dirty and nasty in a charming way. I got to see the Cindy Sherman exhibition at MOMA. It is just so fitting for a NYC visit.
Be back in 6 months!
